Neuro-Rehabilitation

Ideas for activities and equipment to aid in the continuation of Brain Injury rehabilitation for both the survivor or career/family member once initial rehabilitation and its funding has ended.

Activities

Pilates

Yoga / Chair yoga

Tia Chi

Swimming (entrance/membership or classes like adult disabled swimming lessons)

Psychologist or counselling sessions

Physiotherapy massage

Check-up with past professional therapist/rehabilitation centre

Vestibular rehabilitation (reducing dizziness)

Gym membership trials at, for example,  www.everyoneactive.com

If you’re already a gym member, some 1:2:1 personal training.

Running club membership or 1:2:1 training, for example, RunDudleyRun

Equipment

Anything needed for you to conduct activities such as the ones above.

For example:

New swimwear, goggles, non-slip footwear, flotation devices (kickboard, woggle, etc), Pilates mat, resistance bands, yoga block, suitable gym clothing (t-shirt, etc)

Trainers

Wheelchair

Other mobility aids (Walking poles, LifeGlider, foot/leg brace, etc)

Software needed on your computer/tablet that’s related to your recovery

iPad/tablet

Limb splints or brace

Electro-stim devices
