Lowestoft ½ Marathon Sunday 20th September 2020

Remember it’s ‘Your Day Sunday’ so choose when, where and your distance to complete on the day in awareness of Brain Injury Recovery. Here is what we plan to do for our 1/2 marathon walking challenge starting and finishing at The Thatch Restaurant & Coffee House, Cliff Road (approximately 7:30am-1pm)

Leg 1 – Distance 3.6 miles (the Thatch Loop)

We are starting at 7:30am from The Thatch Restaurant & Coffee House heading south along the sea front before turning right inland to Pakefield MacDonalds to turn around.

Finish back at The Thatch Restaurant & Coffee House ETA 8:50am (‘Leg 2’). 

Leg 2 – Distance 1.9 miles 

Head north to Lowestoft’s South Pier, down the Pier and back to cross the Bascule Bridge, Lowestoft, and follow the sea wall to Ness Point (‘Leg 3’) ETA 9:40am

Leg 3 – Distance 2.5 miles 

From Ness Point continue along the sea wall, passing Birds Eye, and continue to the end by the car park.  Walking up the hill (Links Road) and then turning right onto Corton Road to The White Horse Inn, Corton. ETA 10:45am (‘Leg 4’)

Leg 4 – Distance 1 mile (the Corton Pub loop)

At around 10:45am we’ll be looping around Corton heading along the cliff top for 1/2 mile out then turning around and finishing back at The White Horse Inn. (‘Leg 5’)

Leg 5 – Distance 2 miles

Heading back south to Martello’s Cafe, Sparrows Nest (‘Leg 6’)ETA 12 noon

Leg 6 – Distance 2.2 miles

From Martello’s Cafe, Sparrows Nest we will continue south inland through Lowestoft Triangle, through the town centre and back over the Bascule bridge. We will head back to the promenade to finish back at The Thatch Restaurant & Coffee House for a nice cuppa ETA 1pm

At The Finish

3 Million Steps will have a table outside The Thatch Restaurant & Coffee House with certificate for any participants who completed any distance from the day (Just show us a selfie of you on route and post it on Social media tagging @3_million_steps), more information about who we are, what we do and any will be donations gratefully received and accepted for our Brain Injury Recovery charity.
