Sun’s out at last

The carpark at The Prince of Wales was on a bit of a slope, well it was more like being on the side of Everest, so we moved to a nice campsite in Oxford. At least it has meant that we’ve been able to have a proper shower. Zara has friends in Oxford so they are giving us a lift today. I don’t deliberately keep the miles we walk each day below 10, but if we hadn’t got to the east side of the river, then the route today would have been about 14 miles as it follows the Thames and there are no bridges crossing it.

The first part of the day has been so so to be honest, with not much to see, but all of a sudden we come out of a wood and get a great view of Oxford down below us.

We eventually meet up again with the Thames path and head up to Iffley Lock which I think is one of the nicest locks we’ve seen. The lock keeper is putting some boats through so I get a bit nosey and find out how to do it. Well it might come in handy one day.

Ians Beer of the Day

Rather nice actually. Never heard of it before but found it in a supermarket. Very similar to other Arkell’s ales.
