Oh I do Like to be beside the Seaside

We’ve been joined by 87 year old Martin from Porthcawl Lions for the first mile or so. He was born in Margam which was one of the 3 villages that merged together to form what is now Port Talbot. His knowledge of the area and the history is astounding, he even managed to show us the house that he first kissed his wife when they were both 15.

After walking out of Port Talbot, we follow the Wales Coast path and we are in Margam Moor. Now this is not the same moor that you find in Yorkshire, but a superb natural area bordered by sandy dunes and the sea.

The next 3 or so miles are great, we’re on the beach, the walking is easy and at one point i think that we we’re the only people there.

We meet up with Zaras mum who has walked out of Porthcawl to meet us, i’m not sure who is more exited to see us, her mum or the dog! We’re met by Porthcawl Lions and have the honour to be invited to their meeting to give a presentation about Zaras recovery, and they are generous in making a donation.

Ians Beer of the Day

On the bottled beer today. It’s pleasant, tastes of lager, nice and crisp. Sort of wish I’d bought 2 bottles.
